    Ingathering 2014

Micah 6:8 says that the Lord requires us “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk

    humbly with your God.”

When we share from our abundance we are acting justly , showing mercy and reflecting our desire to serve God.

Ingathering is the result of gathering, collecting, harvesting. In more recent times it has been referred to as “Hope for Humanity” because it presents the opportunity to address some of the social ills of the community such as hunger, Aids, homelessness, etc.

Ingathering is a program in the Seventh-day Adventist Church around the world when the members go to the public to invite them to contribute to the community services work of the church. For more than a century, Seventh Day Adventists have reached out to their communities to share in in the support of the compassionate ministry of Jesus.

The primary purpose of ingathering is as follows:

ž  To  provide  funds to aid a world program that includes educational, welfare, and disaster relief projects thus bringing  hope to humanity and a living Christ to the world.

ž  To give an opportunity to market the Seventh-day Adventist Church, distribute copies of the Ingathering magazine, pray with our contacts and seek to share Jesus with them.

The Ingathering program of the SDA Sweet Redemptive Church of the North Caribbean Conference will commence on January 25, 2014, and end on March 8, 2014. Our ingathering goal this year is $6000.00

We are once again looking to you the public for a tangible support of our humanitarian endeavors as a church.   Your financial contribution will go a long way in relieving the suffering of those in dire need including those who have been struck by natural disasters. We thank you in advance for your contribution toward this worthy cause and look forward to your continued support as together we try to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.

Members, here are some important things to remember when soliciting funds for harvest ingathering:

    ·         Always have the official literature and signature card with you.  We have a colorful handout, produced by the North Caribbean Conference, about the work done last year.

    ·         Some businesses do not allow solicitations so it is advised that you do not stand at the entrances of stores, or stet corners without prior knowledge of the pastor and permission from the store managers.  Be properly dressed, representing your church with a smile.

    ·         The persons going to businesses, must get an official letter (from the Pastor of the church or the Personal Ministries Director) to send to these persons before you visit them.  If possible, make an appointment. All cheques are made payable to the Sweet Redemptive Seventh-day Adventist Church.

    ·         Funds are to be identified on an envelope and turned in to your Sabbath School  teacher,  the Personal

Ministries Director, or the Treasurer each week.
